Loimaa Regional Hospital belongs to the Intermunicipal Hospital District of Southwest Finland. The hospital offers specialized care services to the inhabitants in its area. Loimaa Regional Hospital has user municipalities within the hospital districts of Southwest Finland, Satakunta, Kanta-Häme and Pirkanmaa. There are approx. 80 000 inhabitants in the area.

History in brief
The activities of the hospital begun in 1893 as Loimaan ja Alastaron kunnallissairaala, during the 1930s the name was changed into Loimaan seudun sairaala and in 1958 into Loimaa Regional Hospital (Loimaan aluesairaala). In 2006 the psychiatric activities were administratively moved into the hospital district’s own psychiatric division.
